The shawl is made with pashmina from a cooperative of nomads in Ladakh. The pashmina was first hand-spun on a spinning wheel and then coloured turquoise with natural dyes, indigo and tesu flowers in the Himalayas. This was hand-woven on a traditional loom to make this beautiful shawl.
These shawls are heavier than usual pashmina shawls made with mill yarn.
There may be small variations in size as it is made on a handloom. There may also be some inconsistencies in weaving and dyeing, which add to the character of the shawl. The length is about 87 inches (221 cms), and the width is 36 inches (91 cms).
We will ship the shawl by Speed Post within 3 working days of receiving the order.
We make very soft woolen stoles for women using a blend of pure merino and Himalayan wool. The stoles are coloured with natural dyes such as madder, indigo, harada and tesu flowers in the Himalayas. The dyed yarn is hand-woven on traditional looms into a beautiful wool stole in villages in the foothills of the Himalayas. Our wool stoles provide a combination of warmth and elegance.
We make two sizes of stoles. The standard size is approximately 86 inches (218 cm) long and 24 inches (61 cm) wide. The smaller stoles are 80 inches (203 cm) long and 20 inches (51 cm) wide. Both have about 3-inch-long tassels.
