The woolen shawl is very special as it is made of wool yarn hand-spun on a charkha by Bhotia ladies in the village Dunda, near Uttarkashi. The yarn is hand-dyed with natural dyes, harada and tea and then hand-woven into this beautiful shawl.
There may be small variations in size as it is made on a handloom. There may also be some inconsistencies in weaving and dyeing, which add to the character of the shawl. The length is about 100 inches (254 cms) and the width 52 inches (132 cms).
We will ship the shawl within 3 working days of receiving the order with Speed Post.
Enjoy!
We make very soft woolen stoles for women using a blend of pure merino and Himalayan wool. The stoles are coloured with natural dyes such as madder, indigo, harada and tesu flowers in the Himalayas. The dyed yarn is hand-woven on traditional looms into a beautiful wool stole in villages in the foothills of the Himalayas. Our wool stoles provide a combination of warmth and elegance.
We make two sizes of stoles. The standard size is approximately 86 inches (218 cm) long and 24 inches (61 cm) wide. The smaller stoles are 80 inches (203 cm) long and 20 inches (51 cm) wide. Both have about 3-inch-long tassels.
