This is a large shawl that will keep you nicely cosy in winter evenings. It is very soft and light as it is made with yak wool obtained from Kargyam village in the Changthang area of Ladakh. A number of craftpeople have contributed to the making of these beautiful and very soft shawls. The shawl was hand-woven by Afsana Begum and her husband, Mohammed Gulzar, in Rampur village near Dehradun.
There may be small variations in size as it is made on a handloom. There may also be some inconsistencies in weaving and dyeing, which add to the character of the shawl. The length is about 90 inches (229 cms), and the width is 36 inches (91 cms).
We will ship the shawl by Speed Post within 3 working days of receiving the order.
We make very soft woolen stoles for women using a blend of pure merino and Himalayan wool. The stoles are coloured with natural dyes such as madder, indigo, harada and tesu flowers in the Himalayas. The dyed yarn is hand-woven on traditional looms into a beautiful wool stole in villages in the foothills of the Himalayas. Our wool stoles provide a combination of warmth and elegance.
We make two sizes of stoles. The standard size is approximately 86 inches (218 cm) long and 24 inches (61 cm) wide. The smaller stoles are 80 inches (203 cm) long and 20 inches (51 cm) wide. Both have about 3-inch-long tassels.
