Handmade Yak Shawl Stole scarf for women
We use pure yak wool to make shawls, scarves and stoles.
The yak is found in high altitude areas in many parts of the world. Our yak wool comes from Changthang in Ladakh, and Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh. Like pashmina goats, the yak develops a fine and soft down next to its skin to protect against the cold conditions of their habitat.
Shawls and scarves made using yak wool are perfect for keeping warm in cold winters.
Woolen Shawl Hand Spun and Handwoven Dyed with tea and harada
This shawl is very special as it is made of wool yarn hand spun by Bhotia ladies in village Dunda, near Uttarkashi. The yarn is hand dyed with natural dyes and then hand woven into this beautiful shawl.
The shawl is certified by Craftmark as hand woven and hand-dyed.
There may be small variations in size as it is made on a handloom. There may also be some inconsistencies in weaving and dyeing, which add to the character of the shawl. The length is about 90 inches (229 cms) and width 36 inches (91 cms). There are also tassels of roughly 4 inches (10cms) length.
We will ship the shawl within 3 working days of receiving the order. If you are in India, we will ship by a courier or Speed Post. If you are outside India, we ship by FedEx.
Enjoy!
